The CIDASTH is a research center affiliated with the School of Agricultural Engineering and includes researchers from different Schools in the campus of San Carlos. These researchers work together to offer solutions and improve the development of tropical agriculture. This Center works on basic and applied research, involving technological tools such as biotechnology, agromatics, information and communication technologies, production processes management, environmental management, competitiveness and systematic management of agro-ecosystems.
It also acts as a liaison with the external sector by offering training, consultancy and service commercialization in production, agri-food chain management, and in the use and conservation of resources. The CIDASTH is committed to the sustainable development of agricultural and livestock tropical models that provide food to local and international markets in an effort to reduce the negative impact on the environment and fostering the farmer’s social and economical development.
