 Presentation

The School of Social Sciences contributes to the humanistic education of the graduates of the Costa Rican Institute of Technology by offering courses in legal, philosophical and social areas. Moreover, it offers conferences, lectures and discussion groups through its university chairs.

Its courses take into account the individualities of the careers, mainly Engineering, and the needs graduates have to confront as professionals.

In a near future, the School of Social Sciences will put forward a Master degree in Local Economical Development to the community with the cooperation of FLASCO-CR. Its Majors are: Community Tourism and Small Enterprise Development.

In 2007, the School of Social Sciences will open a Bachelor degree in Sustainable Tourism Procedure as part of the existing connection with other Community Colleges, so this can permit to the Associate’s Degree graduates of other careers related to Tourism continue with their studies.
