Characteristics of Computer Assisted Mathematical Teaching

The graduate in Computer Assisted Mathematical Teaching is a professional that will successfully innovate and develop both teaching and learning processes of mathematics at a high school level.  Graduates will also generate, analyze and assess such processes assisted by computers.  The program lasts 8 semesters and includes four areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Computer science
  • Teaching
  • Complementary areas

In the area of mathematics, students take fundamentals of mathematics, geometry, calculus, analysis, algebra, statistics and numerical methods. In computer science, they take programming, multimedia, and some courses to learn how to use and develop software for teaching applications.  As for teaching, students work on pedagogy, assessing learning, psychology, didactic planning and methodology for mathematics teaching.  Complementary areas include physics, humanities and sports.

Resources and facilities
