The School of Language Sciences is an educational service School which purpose is to contribute to the integral formation of students through the courses it offers. Moreover, it is made up of two areas: Communication and English.
The Communication Area is in charge of written and spoken communication courses, as well as literary criticism, technical communication, scientific communication, technical documentation and documental research. Furthermore, these courses are offered to the national community as an extension program.
The English Area satisfies the demand of specialized courses according to the Schools of the Costa Rican Institute of Technology. At present, it offers basic English courses, English I and II, seven English courses for the School of Business Administration and four English courses for the School of Computer Engineering. Besides that, it is in charge of English courses offered to the national community through FUNDATEC.
It is important to highlight that the School of Language Sciences is responsible for the administration of the Human Formation Centers program, which is addressed to the students of the university, the institution and the community.
