The School of Electromechanical Engineering was founded with the establishment of the Costa Rica Institute of Technology; therefore it is a pioneer in preparing engineers in Industrial Maintenance. With a high quality and thorough academic background, these professionals have contributed in an important way to the Costa Rican industrial conversion of the last 25 years. Complying with the objective of permanent improvement and high quality, the School constantly pursues academic diversification and potential, and responds to the country needs and to technological and scientific advances.
In accordance with its pioneering spirit, this is one of the first two Schools of the ITCR that was accredited by the Canadian Accreditation Engineering Board (CEAB), thus certifying the quality of our programs and allowing international association. It is important to highlight that accreditation has just been granted for another five years as we have complied with all the recommendations proposed.
The School of Electromechanical Engineering, as well as the ITCR, firmly believes that research has a great impact on the industry and in education. For this reason, this school fosters research projects in areas such as: energy save, TPM, automatization of quality control processes and metal mechanics.
I invite you to look for information about our pre-graduate and graduate programs or in our extension courses in electro mechanics.
