The School of Building Construction Engineering was founded over thirty-one years ago; it is indeed one of the first three graduate degrees that the Costa Rican Institute of Technology offered. The academic program has been improved through the years and currently students take a five-year program to obtain a Licenciate degree in Building Construction Engineering.
The School mission is to contribute with the country development, particularly enhancing the construction sector; for that, the school prepares a professional workforce and develops extension and research projects within a sustainable construction framework. Our mission is to become regional leaders in sustainable construction, specifically in the generation of professionals, research, extension and social action.
For the next five years, it is our objective to maintain the international accreditation and to be connected with other prestigious universities that are related to this field and thus transfer technology and project our academic program internationally.
