 Characteristics of Computer Engineering

Given the working ambience in which the professional will extend, it endeavours that the students is capable to work in group, understand the manual instructions of the product , use different brands and category’s of equipment, program and comprehend the dynamic and the functions national organizations have.

Given the ambience is particularly technical, in some courses, emphasis is given to the development of elemental applications as a part of the job. Furthermore the student has to accomplish a practice, where he/she will carry out specific project, working fulltime in public or private institutions, under the supervision of a teacher of the faculty.

Working area for Computer Engineering

In its majority, those who graduate in the career for Computer Engineering will practice as professionals in the private sector, although many of them work in the public sector. Among the principal sources of work are corporations specialized in marketing, renting and counselling service in information technology. Many graduates work in companies that are dedicated to the development of computer systems for businesses and institutions, private as well a public.

Importance of Computer Engineering for the country

Seen the technological advance that at this moment occurs in the world, Costa Rica should apply its development in new systems and technology that make the processing of any kind of information easier.

This job is achieved by the education of professionals that are capable to succeed in a maximum output of the technology of information in business, administrative and industrial activities. Costa Rican companies have shown a great capacity to develop software and systems of high quality, wherefore a high potential exists to expand an industrial sector for the exportation of software.
