The School of Agricultural Management graduates professionals in the field of Agricultural Management with an emphasis on Agricultural Business and Agro-industrial Business.

Graduate students are able to plan, organize, direct and control all production-related tasks within a company.  As an entrepreneur in agricultural management, students are able to optimize production resources in the company (natural resources, human resources, capital and technology) in an environmentally friendly way.

 Services

 

The School of Agricultural Management offers different services through the Agro-industrial Management Research Center (CIGA). 

The general objective of CIGA is to contribute to the national and regional development, enhancing the quality of life of the different components of the agro-industrial sector by improving management in their businesses.

CIGA offers training, advisory and consultancy, as well as research and other repetitive services to the agro-industrial businesses, in the areas of quality control, post-harvest management, processing, packaging, management and agriculture and cattle production.

Post-harvest management

Product follow-up (grain, fruit, vegetables and meat); this includes harvest, gathering, transportation, pre-cooling and storage in order to reduce loss during post-harvest.  Recommendations are based on the characteristics of each case.  Storage tests are carried out to increase the product duration.  Training in the area is carried out.

 The school has the following facilities:  Pilot Agroindustrial Plant, Center for Agricultural Practices, Computer lab and rooms equipped with audiovisual aids.  These facilities are used for teaching, research and extension project purposes.

 Graduates follow-up

The School of Agricultural Management is currently up-dating its graduates database in order contact these professionals and organize conferences, symposium, permanent education programs, and other activities.
